144th Birth Anniversary of Baldomero Aguinaldo Kawit, Cavite – The 144th Birth Anniversary of Baldomero Aguinaldo was commemorated on February 26, 2013, 8:00 a.m. at the Baldomero Aguinaldo Shrine in Kawit, Cavite. Commemorative activities started with a memorial mass officiated by Rev. Jofre A. Gallegos, followed by flag-raising rites headed by Mayor Reynaldo B. Aguinaldo of Kawit, Cavite, NHCP Executive Director Ludovico D. Badoy and former Prime Minister Cesar E.A. Virata, grandson of Baldomero Aguinaldo. Wreath-laying rites was led by the officials and representatives from the National Historical Commission of the Philippines, Municipal Government of Kawit, Philippine National Police-Kawit, Department of Education-Kawit, Veterans Federation of the Philippines, Samahan ng mga Kapitan ng Barangay ng Kawit and the descendants of Gen. Baldomero Aguinaldo. The NHCP is a national government agency mandated to promote and preserve Philippine historical heritage through research, information dissemination, conservation, including the marking of historic sites and structures, and the maintenance and administration of national shrines and landmarks. |
