PRESS RELEASE: NHCP unveils the National Defense College of the Philippines historical marker QUEZON CITY ─ The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) unveils on Monday, 11 February 2013, the historical marker “National Defense College of the Philippines” at the DND Compound, NDCP Building, Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City, in celebration of its 50th founding anniversary this year. The marker states:
The unveiling ceremony is organized by NHCP in cooperation with the National Defense College of the Philippines Alumni Association, Inc. Honorable Vice-President of the Philippines Jejomar C. Binay and NHCP Executive Director Ludovico D. Badoy will lead the unveiling ceremony. They will be assisted by the Secretary of the Department of National Defense Voltaire T. Gazmin and NDCP President Dr. Fermin De Leon, Jr. The marker will be officially turned over to the National Defense College of the Philippines. NHCP Deputy Executive Director Carminda R. Arevalo will stand as one of the witnesses during the signing of the Certificate of Transfer. The NHCP is the national government agency mandated to promote and preserve Philippine history and heritage through research, information dissemination, conservation, including the marking of historic sites and structures, and the maintenance and administration of national shrines, monuments and landmarks.
