GUIDELINES ON THE LEASE/RENTAL OF NHI/VIDEO/VHS TAPES

1. The NHI, through the Historic Sites and Education Division and the Materials Conservation Center (MCC), shall recognize the importance of videos and other audio-visual materials as an effective tool for the better appreciation of Philippine History and Cultural Heritage, especially among the youth.
2. The NHI shall establish a Video Collection Unit that shall be maintained, preserved and catalogued by professional/skilled personnel and/or film conservator. A separate video laboratory and temperature-controlled storage shall be provided to ensure the preservation and upkeep of the videos.
3. The NHI shall appropriate a portion of its annual budget for the purchase and acquisition of original or duplicate copies of VHS/videos.
4. The lease/borrowing of the VHS/videos shall be guided by the following policies:

   4.1 Only formal and written request shall be entertained.
   4.2 The videos shall be used only for the purpose and duration stated in the request letter and duly  pproved by the NHI.
   4.3 The video shall not be used for solicitation purpose. Video screening is free to the public. 
   4.4 The videos shall not be copied/reproduced in whole or in part without the written and official approval of the NHI.
   4.5 The requesting party shall be liable to any damage to the videos during the inclusive date/s of the lease. 
   4.6 The NHI should be acknowledged after or during the       screening of the videos.

5. All donated films/videos shall be duly acknowledged and covered by a Deed of Donation between the donor and the NHI. A Certificate of Tax Exception equivalent to the monetary value to be determined by the NHI for the said donation shall be given to the donor upon request.
